One-line description
Achim Mentzen turns his own naked body into the material of a live artwork examining nudity, shame, visibility, objectification and bodily self-determination.
50-word version
Achim Mentzen – Living Sculpture / Transparenzprojekt is a live-art project about the social meaning of the naked human body. Its central format is a seven-day continuous performance in which ordinary life becomes part of the artwork. The project examines shame, public visibility, the gaze, objectification and self-determination.
150-word version
Achim Mentzen is developing Living Sculpture / Transparenzprojekt as a public performance project since 2026. The central work is a seven-day continuous live performance in which the artist remains visibly nude within an agreed performance environment. Sleeping, eating, body care, conversation and ordinary activities can become part of the work.
The project begins with a direct proposition: the human body is not obscene. It examines how nudity becomes charged with shame, sexualisation, social rules and expectations. The artist deliberately makes his own body visible and accepts that looking, questioning, evaluation and objectification can become part of the artistic situation.
Living Sculpture is not presented as a sexual service. Safety, consent, house rules, legal requirements and explicit boundaries are part of the production framework.
The project combines performance art with the artist's professional background in business, sales, marketing, quality management and adult education.
Press angles
- Why is an adult naked body treated differently from other visible bodies?
- What happens when everyday life becomes performance?
- Can objectification itself become artistic material?
- How are shame and nudity socially learned?
- What changes when the artist uses his real identity rather than an anonymous art persona?
- Where are the boundaries between visibility, consent, privacy and public space?
Short artist statement
“I am not presenting an anonymous nude body. I am presenting myself: Achim Mentzen. My body is part of the artwork, and the reactions to its visibility are part of what I investigate.”

Orgasmusmodul · 80 Minuten
